Family, Friends, and a busy weekend

On July 18, 2008, in Family, Miscellaneous, by scott

Last weekend, I ended up calling in sick to take care of Gabby.  She was feeling quite a bit under the weather and slept about as well as you’d expect a sick two year old to sleep.

We did end up stepping out for a bit last weekend to Uncle Dustin’s 30th Birthday Party.  On the way home we stopped at Ben’s 3rd Birthday Party. Below are a couple of the pics I snapped before our little one got REALLY tired and started misbehaving. (By the way, our daughter NEVER misbehaves *sarcasm intended*)

As I write this, my body aches everywhere and the doctor today put me on antibiotics.. I think Gabby might have shared…

It was a HOT day today!

On July 16, 2008, in Family, by scott

This morning, we left for Potter Park Zoo.  It was a wonderfully warm morning when we left.  The zoo’s doors opened at 9:00am.

Now before I go any further in the story, let me tell you that yesterday and today were both “L & L Food Center Zoo Days” meaning that there were LOTS of free tickets into the zoo.  These free tickets were also what we were using.

We arrived at 10:00am, and the parking lots were already full.  We ended up in overflow parking and had a bit of a hike to the zoo.  Let me also add it was approaching 85 and the humidity was increasing every second.

The place was a zoo… full of people.  We found the park (probably due to the heat) not as nice as John Ball Zoo in Grand Rapids, or Binder Park Zoo in Battle Creek.

Even the animals were hot! But this little guy found a way to stay cool.

But at the end of the day, we still had a fun adventure, and Gabby was more than happy to pose for the camera.

The Fourth was wow wow wonderful…

Sort of.  I ended up working all day, flying home, watching fireworks with the family (sooo worth it!), then flying out again the next morning.  It was a total blast to watch Gabby’s face literally and figuratively light up every time the sky was filled with the colors of fireworks.  We went to the show in Grand Haven with Grandpa Tazelaar, Doug, Marcy, Alex, and Dan Grayson, as well as the Grayson’s niece and nephew.

Here’s a photo before it got too dark.  I need to thank Doug for sharing his camera!

Side note and final chapter to the phone fiasco, we’re now back on Verizon. (They actually work everywhere we need them to work)

The Day After Father's Day

On June 16, 2008, in Family, by scott

The family went out to Meijer Gardens today.  It was a beautiful, and cool summer day.

Mom and Gabby were checking out a new exhibit when the wind played a mean trick on them and started getting them wet.

While in the tree house, Dad and Gabby looked up at Mom, holding the camera.

As we were headed out, there was a little ballet bar. I snapped a quick photo looking at the not so perfect mirror.

It's cold out west

Crystal and Gabby are enjoying Liz’s baby shower.  Crystal told me that at the shower, there were three pregnant women, all pregnant with boys!  (It must be in the water).

I’m currently sitting in Seattle trying to get sleepy.  Hoping to rest a bit before my red-eye tonight back to Cleveland.  After that, it’s no sleep but get home for Father’s Day!

Here’s a couple of photos I snapped while on the arrival into Seattle this afternoon.

Here’s Mt. Rainier:

Off to grab some much needed rest.  And if I forget tomorrow, Happy Father’s Day!
